By using countle, you agree to these terms. They're short and reasonable.

What countle is

A free browser game that tests how accurately you can estimate crowd sizes (well, stars). No accounts. No fees. No nonsense.

How to use it

It's free for personal use
No need to sign up
Available worldwide as long as it's running

Playing inside Discord

countle is also available as a Discord Activity. When you play that way:

Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines also apply
Your Discord display name and the server you're playing in are visible to others on that server's leaderboard
You can leave the Activity at any time using Discord's Leave button

Leaderboard rules

You can submit your score and a chosen name to the global leaderboard. By doing so:

Names must not contain profanity, slurs, or hateful content
Names must not impersonate other people, public figures, or brands
We can remove any name at our discretion
We can remove fraudulent or suspicious scores
Submitted names and scores become publicly visible

What we promise

We try to keep the site running and your data safe
We don't sell your data
We aim to ship ads we wouldn't mind seeing ourselves

What we don't promise

That the site will always be available
That scores will be preserved forever
That the site is bug-free
Any specific performance, fitness, or scientific accuracy

Liability

countle is provided "as is". We are not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses arising from your use of the site. Use it for entertainment, not life decisions.

If we shut countle down

If we ever decide to stop running countle, we'll give at least 30 days notice on the homepage. Within 30 days of shutdown we will delete leaderboard data and all stored Discord-derived identifiers. Local data on your device (preferences, stats) is yours to keep or clear as you like.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes go to courts in Oslo, Norway.

Changes

If we update these terms, the "Last updated" date changes. Continued use means you accept the changes.
